Benedict College Parking Facility Benedict College Columbia, South Carolina
The five-level facility accommodates 300 cars within a 20,000 sq. ft. footprint that is carefully placed onto a very tight site. The structure is pre-cast on deep auger cast piles that spans a utility tunnel which runs underneath the new structure.
The existing campus was reoriented to allow for efficient access and egress to out of the deck and surrounding areas. Perimeter site landscaping, building colors of brick and topically coated pre-cast concrete have been composed to accentuate the overall composition of the facility.
The project was completed using a design/build delivery method where design and construction spanned a short nine months period.
