Terminal Redevelopment Project (TREP)
Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport
Atlanta, Georgia
As part of a joint venture team, HSST preformed a series of tasks critical to the expansion of the Main Terminal. Existing conditions documentation & studies, code studies & analysis, engineering studies and scope & cost estimates of numerous options were included. A number of enabling projects were anticipated in preparation of the expansion of the existing Terminal.
Numerous concepts were developed and narrowed to 6 alternatives. Further planning and design combined attributes of the six (6) and eliminated weaknesses which reduced variations to two (2) preferred options. Components of the expansion includes ticketing operations, baggage claim devices, security checkpoints, concessions, restrooms, curbside operations, baggage handling systems, extension of the existing automated ground transportation (AGT) system as well as a new automated people mover system (APM) to service future airside gates and building support systems. The next stage of development is to develop a final solution, prepare construction documents and implementation.
