14th Street Playhouse (formally Academy Theatre)

This 25,500 square foot facility became the home of the Academy Theatre located in mid-town Atlanta. It houses three (3) performance theatres within the four (4) storey corner building. The main stage seats approximately 400 seats within a 5,500 square foot enclosure, a 175 seat flexible first-stage theatre of 2,500 square foot located in lower level and a 75 seat laboratory theatre also on the lower level.
To complete the facility operations, additional areas consist of four (4) practice rooms, two (2) dressing rooms & dressing areas, a ‘green’ room, costume rooms, crew room, 2,300 square feet of office areas on the upper level above the main stage overlooking 14th Street and Juniper intersection with mechanical & electrical penthouse spaces.
The theatre is connected to the Campanile Parking Facility which was part of the facilities’ complement and designed as a coordinated component. The garage has a bridge connection to the corporate office of Bell South - the Campanile Office Tower.
